In this episode of the Michiana Hivecast, we sit down with Paul Sexton, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and collaborator at Alchemy Healing Arts, a brand-new wellness collective that just opened its doors in South Bend’s Near Northwest Neighborhood. Alchemy brings together independent therapists, somatic healers, massage therapists, occupational therapists, and local makers under one roof, united by a shared commitment to compassionate, equitable, and trauma-informed care. Paul also brings over ten years of clinical experience as a Certified ADHD Clinical Services Provider, offering evaluations and therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.

What You Will Learn in This Episode:

  • What a Wellness Collective Actually Is: How Alchemy differs from a traditional therapy practice and what it feels like to walk through the door for the first time.
  • The Vision Behind the Space: Why Paul and the Alchemy collaborators chose South Bend’s Portage Place as home, and what gap in the community they set out to fill.
  • Values Named, Not Implied: What it means to be a feminist-led, queer-affirming, trauma-informed collective grounded in social justice and decolonizing approaches to healing.
  • The Collaborator Model: How independent practitioners share a collective ethos, and why that serves clients differently than a traditional group practice.
  • What’s Coming at Alchemy: Classes, workshops, and ways the Michiana community can get involved with this new space.
